  Great stuff, as ever…

  For all close up guitar work a pair of over-strength reading glasses is useful for those of you (like me) whose eyesight is not what it was. Reading glasses are designed for arms length reading (and so blur when close), so go to your local cheapy-mart and test a few pairs at close inspection or soldering distance instead to see which strength brings things into focus. Typically if you need a 1 or 1.5 for reading a 2 will be better for solder and the 2.5 strength perfect for close guitar inspection work. I keep three pairs handy in the workshop with these different strengths, each carefully labelled ‘Reading’ (18″+) / ‘Soldering’ (12″-18″) / ‘Inspection’ (6″-12″).

  Unless you have 20-20, you’ll never find that broken wire otherwise!!
