Jim Campilongo Electric Trio
Check out this clip of one of my favorite guitar players, Jim Campilongo. I love his unique twist on Tele pickin’. His work with the Little Willies, 10 Gallon Cats and Matha Wainright is awesome as well. Just a brilliant player as far as i’m concerned. What say you?

Very nice! Hey Billy, I know you are realy into teles, so here is a treat for you! http://5th-fret.blogspot.com/2009/12/just-plain-cool.html
Great to see Jim getting the props he deserves… what a unique player.
Billy, if you get a chance, pls review his Artist Signature ’59 Tele (toploader!) Its scheduled for release at NAMM in Jan 2010.
Cool. Funky redneck zombie music.
Thats guitar playing (no hiding behind effects) just pickin and maybe a bit of verb now thats cool .
Absolutely! He’s one of those zen geeks of the Tele who can bring out those uniquenesses which reveal the Tele as something alien from other guitars.
Yeah, I love his playing so much. There is alot of cool stuff on youtube and he has a bunch of CD’s. Tele and a Princeton Reverb……how can you go wrong? -Billy
Too many major scales.Should have left them in school.Chet A. played like this(no major scales)50 yrs. ago with taste.Shoulda’ left those scales in school.Scales do not music make. You’re out of school now. It’s time to grow up.
Wow, Ty Millsaps… How many times are you going to mention “school” in your post? Maybe YOU should grow up. I bet you couldn’t play 1/1000 as well as Mr. Campilongo.
