Here is a tip that most guitar players probably know but the few that don’t will avoid a major repair to a Classical nylon string guitar. Steel string acoustic guitars can be used with nylon strings but your classical nylon string cannot be used with steel strings. The reason you cannot use steel strings on a classical guitar is that steel string sets have much more tension than nylon strings. The increased tension could lift the bridge right off the top of the classical guitar. The increased tension could also loosen braces and belly the guitars top. If you choose to use nylon strings on a steel string acoustic you will have to have the guitar set up for the lower tension of the nylon strings.
