1961 Fender Bassman Amp

A very, very cool 1961 Fender Bassman (6G6 model) that came into my shop for some TLC. A typical 6G6 circuit has a tube rectifier but this one had a diode rectifier like a 6G6-A. Probably a transition circuit. This amp basically just needed a service and a cap job. After the service work and cap job the amp sounded incredible! Guitars with single coil pickups sounded fantastic through the Normal channel and guitars with humbuckers or P-90’s sounded amazing through the Bass channel. It’s no wonder why Brian Setzer favors the blonde Bassman amp for his sound. Amazing!!!
