In this photo I’m in the process of dressing the fret ends of this Westone guitar. It’s in my shop t be refretted. Dressing the fret ends makes them nice and smooth. I also bevel them toward the center of the fretboard but you have to be careful. If the bevel is at too great an angle you could lose fret surface area. This will either make the two E strings slip off the fret (which can be very annoying or the string spacing will be to close together (which is also annoying). In the end the fret ends should not feel obtrusive, each E string should not slip off the fret and the string spacing should not be too close together.
