Sanyo eneloop Pedal Juice

Now I’ve seen everything….a battery to power battery powered effects..!! What will they think of next..!

My man Phil Caivano of Monster Magnet turned me on to this new effects power supply made by Sanyo. It is called the eneloop Pedal Juice and it’s actually a rechargeable batter capable of supplying 9 volts DC @ 1000mA of power to each of the two power output jacks. Each jack can then be used with a “daisy chain” wire to supply your effects pedals. There is an on/off switch and three color LED to monitor how much power is left before you need to recharge.

There are several advantages of a power supply like this. 1- You are off of AC power reducing some noise and eliminating ground loops, plus it’s one less wire to plug in on your set up. 2- It is small and doesn’t take up a lot of real estate on your pedalboard. 3- Can power pedals for hours; ie- a single overdrive pedal can be used for up to 50 hours..!!! 4- This is new technology and can be helpful to the environment. Just ask Steve Casper or check his article about alternate power supplies here.

So there you have it. A small, quiet, rechargeable, “green” pedal power solution for just under $150.00. This could probably save you some money in the long run if you are using 9v batteries all the time. This looks very interesting to me…I may have to try this out on my board. Thanks Phil..!!!
