Godin 5th Avenue CW Kingpin II
Now this looks like a cool guitar!! This is the latest model in the 5th Avenue series that features a single-cut design and two Godin Kingpin P-90 pickups. Classic, vintage tone with presence & clarity……if you don’t mind!
Based on a 50’s thinline archtop, the Kingpin II has alot of vintage vibe but with modern playability. The Godin literature says that it has more projection & volume in the low-mids than traditional archtops. This is a very affordable North American built archtop guitar!
The instrument is made from Canadian wild cherry wood and also features an adjustable bridge, classic f-holes, floating pickguard and cream binding. Also, the rustic beauty of its custom polished finish creates a gorgeous satin sheen reminiscent of the French polish of the 19th century.
This guitar looks like a total winner for someone that wants a guitar for blues, rockabilly, jazz and the like. Two P-90s, one volume & one tone control and you’re off. Made in Canada to boot, eh?

When I try the Kingpin model … He told me at my music store that these guitars was made to be played into accoustic amp !!!
Hi Tommy- Thanks for visiting!! I really don’t think that this guitar is exclusive to an acoustic amp. To my eye this reminds me of a Gibson ES225. I have owned and played them over the years through various amps like tweed Deluxe’s and so forth with great results. I don’t think the store person is telling you the whole story with this guitar and amp. Just my opinion though. If you get one let me know what you think..! -Billy
